The Clean Energy Ministerial has announced a new campaign to speed up the deployment of electric vehicles and target at least 30 per cent new electric vehicle sales by 2030. The EV 30@30 campaign will support the market for electric passenger cars, light commercial vans, buses and trucks. It will also work towards the deployment of charging infrastructure to supply sufficient power to the vehicles deployed. Learn more.

At the eighth Clean Energy Ministerial (CEM8) in Beijing, China and Brazil joined the CEM Multilateral Solar and Wind Working group. China also announced that it would join Germany and Denmark as co-lead of the two CEM campaigns initiated by the working group: the Corporate Sourcing for Renewables Campaign and the Advanced Power Plant Flexibility Campaign. The African Development Bank (AfDB) is considering financing three projects within the feed-in tariff programme in Benban, Aswan for $60 million. A source at AfDB told Daily News Egypt the bank has allocated $18 million and $20 million worth of finances for each project in the electricity production plant that depends on solar power. Financing for Phase 3 of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Solar Park in Dubai has been completed, marking the latest significant milestone for the Masdar-led consortium, with EDF Group's subsidiary, EDF Energies Nouvelles, which is developing the 800-megawatt (MW) project in partnership with Dubai Electricity and Water Authority.
