Project Director, Econoler
Mr. Jalel Chabchoub is a project director with Econoler. With extensive experience in the industrial, commercial and public sectors, Mr. Chabchoub has been working for Econoler since 1999 as a senior International Energy Expert. He is a mechanical engineer and holds a Master’s Degree in Industrial Engineering.
Throughout his career, he has worked as an expert in many fields related to energy efficiency, including energy analyses, development and operation of energy service companies (ESCOs), development and implementation of projects under the ESCO approach, measurement and verification (M&V) of energy savings, demand-side management (DSM) programs as well as a variety of projects related to the management of energy consumption in different sectors. Mr. Chabchoub has also gained strong experience in conducting market studies and developing strategies for the industrial sector as well as fostering energy efficiency markets.
His international experience has led him to work in more than 35 countries, on projects carried out or financed by international institutions such as the Asian Development Bank, the World Bank, the United Nations (UNDP) and the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE) and with bilateral development organizations such as the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA), the Institut de l’énergie et de l’environnement de la Francophonie (IEPF), and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). He has also worked for several important electric utilities such as Union Fenosa (Spain), UTE (Uruguay), HEP (Croatia), the Société Algérienne de l’Électricité et du Gaz (Sonelgaz) and the Société Tunisienne de l’Électricité et du Gaz (STEG).
