This report describes how cities in the United States are increasingly taking action to improve the sustainability of their jurisdictions and how clean energy and energy efficiency must be central components of these efforts. The authors gathered data from city plans and interviews with representatives of 20 cities to provide a survey of city goals, the actions employed to meet these goals and measurement strategies to track progress.
