This guidebook provides practical, application-specific information about energy supply options as well as ways to improve energy efficiency in horticulture operations in the areas of irrigation, harvesting and post-harvest operations, cooling and cold storage, drying, and transport. Horticulture produces many high-value crops, especially fruit and vegetables, and often flowers for export. Reliable, affordable supplies of electricity, thermal energy, and mechanical energy are essential to maximize productivity and quality of products.
