This report outlines the Chinese government's support of renewable energy development through policies and regulatons, as well as through special programs for large-scale solar photovoltaic power stations, rural utilization of off-grid solar technologies, and the construction of gigawatt-level wind farm bases. Key laws and subsidies are discussed. Grid connectivity, policy enforcement, wind and solar industry development, and creation of a renewable energy industry association are cited as current challenges. Recommendations are provided to overcome these challenges and grow the renewables market in China.
