This paper presents the key findings and valuable lessons from a study on renewable energy projects in Indonesia. It answers the key questions: How can renewable energy best practice models (BPMs) from Indonesia be replicated? What recognizable contributions do renewable energy options make to the sustainable livelihoods of local communities? What policy implications do renewable energy investments entail if they are to be replicated and be made cleaner, more accessible and more affordable in other communities and localities?
