United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and Renewable Energy: Greening the Industrial Agenda

This report outlines the United Nations Industrial Development Organization's (UNIDO's) strategy—and activities—to promote renewable energy and energy efficiency in developing countries. The strategy focuses on small and medium enterprises in rural, on- and off-grid areas, and industrial applications of renewable energies. Several projects are outlined as case studies, such as UNIDO's partnership with the Global Environment Facility to provide finance and technical assistance to selected industries in Cuba.
