This report projects energy trends to 2035 and provides insights into what they mean for energy security, environmental sustainability and economic development. According to its central scenario forecasts, the global energy market is not moving towards a more sustainable path. Findings include that the United States will overtake Saudi Arabia as the world's top oil producer around 2020; North America will become a net oil exporter by 2030; China, India, and the Middle East are driving 60% of global energy demand growth; and Iraq is playing the key role in global oil production growth.
