This report describes the implementation of carbon capture and storage (CCS) in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as well as the regulatory climate for the technology. No integrated legislative framework is enacted in the UAE in relation to CCS as of February 2012. However, a large amount of government investment to support related projects that, with various related commercial partnerships, is aimed at capturing up to one third of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi's CO2 emissions by 2020.
